The problem

Why parents need a better option

Clinic visits can miss the mark.

Travel. Waiting rooms. Urgent care with a 3-hour wait. The ER as a last resort. A sick, fussy child in a cold exam room — and when a child is distressed, a doctor often can't see the eardrum at all and ends up guessing. Then a high deductible bill. Do it again next time.

Middle of the night. No answers.

Your child is pulling at their ear at 2am. The clinic opens at 9. Urgent care is an hour wait. The telehealth doc can't see anything without an image. You wait and hope.

Current home devices don't work.

Existing home devices are designed after clinical instruments — rigid, awkward, uncomfortable and intimidating even in a doctor's hands, let alone a parent's. Impractical for most families.

There has never been a home device simple enough to use. To solve ALL of these problems.

The Iris™ lineup

Choose your probe.

Every Iris™ probe captures a clear, detailed eardrum image — sharp enough to see what's there, share with a doctor, and compare over time. For close-up imaging viewed on a phone screen, sensor design and optics matter more than resolution numbers. Think of it like phone cameras: every modern smartphone takes a great photo — some people want the extra detail. Choose based on what matters to you.

Iris™ Standard

1080p camera at the probe tip. Clinical pediatric speculum-scale tip (3.3 mm). Full-resolution imaging in a probe the scale of a clinical exam.

Photo: Iris™ Mini probe — angled view showing 2.5 mm tip
Iris™ Mini

Optimized sensor for close-up ear imaging — sharp, clear eardrum images on any phone screen. One-handed use with infants and toddlers. 2.5 mm tip — the probe shown in our demo videos and photos. (400×400 sensor)

Photo: Iris™ Mini Pro probe — angled view showing 2.5 mm tip
Iris™ Mini Pro

Same 2.5 mm one-handed probe as the Mini, with the highest-resolution mini sensor in the line — the sharpest detail the platform produces. (720p sensor)

Beyond the ear canal

One camera. A world to explore.

The Iris™ imager is a removable HD macro camera — and once you've looked inside an ear, everything else gets interesting.

Learn anatomy for real

Kids don't just read about the eardrum — they see their own. Ear canal, skin, scalp, hair: real anatomy, up close, on a phone screen.

Explore the everyday

A beetle's shell. A flower petal. The weave of a shirt. A coin's mint marks. Macro detail turns ordinary things into discoveries.

Reach where nothing else can

Inside a drain. Down a braided cable sleeve. The inside of a keyboard or a watch. A camera a few millimeters wide goes where no phone can.

Ear hygiene

See what's there. See it change over time.

Use the Iris™ camera to see inside an ear before and after — whether you use a flushing technique or the included wax removal scoops.

See it in action

Watch real exams. Real families.

Watch how comfortable and effortless it is — even for wiggly infants. Real children, real homes, no scripts.

"You have to be able to check at home and just call a doctor."

— Chris Boucher, watching his son Braeden go through ear infection after ear infection. That frustration became Zipline Health.

This has been years in the making — patents filed starting in 2012, designs refined until we now have something we are genuinely proud and excited to put in a parent's hands. Pediatricians and ENT surgeons have validated it. We are producing robust, reliable prototypes built to production standards, with manufacturing-grade consistency and quality we are confident in. What remains is the last, most expensive mile: transitioning to full manufacturing and completing regulatory testing and registration. That's what your support funds.

From the hand-built era.

Every Founders Batch device is built by hand, one at a time. The very first units are built personally by our founder — the engineer who designed them. From there, assembly passes to a small team of highly skilled technicians who build each device exactly the same way: one at a time, every component inspected before it goes in, every finished unit individually tested before it ships.

Eventually we'll transition to production tooling and volume manufacturing — and when that happens, the hand-built era ends for good. Every Founders Batch device comes from the hand-built era, with a numbered certificate, hand-signed by the founder.

Supporting low-income families

$5 to $15 from every Founders order — depending on tier — goes into the Healthy Ears Fund. Here is exactly how it works: every device the fund provides is supplied at our manufacturing cost — we take no profit on any of them. For families in poverty, the fund covers that cost completely. For low-income families above that line, the fund covers part of the cost on a sliding scale and the family pays the rest — which lets the same dollars reach a much wider range of families. Ear troubles don't check your income first. We don't think seeing inside should either.

Our Story

Built because a father was frustrated — and right

My brother Chris's son Braeden had ear infection after ear infection. Every time: a car trip, a waiting room, a rushed appointment, a prescription. Chris said it plainly — "You have to be able to check at home and contact a doctor without all of this." He was right. That frustration became Zipline Health.

We built a clinical-grade otoscope with optics precise enough to capture diagnostic images, connected it to an app that a parent can operate in minutes, and wrapped it in a telehealth layer so the images actually go somewhere useful. Braeden is in our hero photo — a real kid, real ears, real problem we solved.

Zipline Health is a family company. We know what it costs — in time, money, and anxiety — to manage a child's health without the right tools. We built the tool we wished existed.
